About August

August Radcliffe is a designer, artist, and communicator at Cleveland State University. They love doing creative work as a form of expression. Their outlook on design is heavily influenced by their life-long love of art, as well as their belief that all design is fundamentally about communication. Their view is that “good design is about relaying information by whatever means necessary. My goal as a designer should then be to become familiar with the principles of art and composition, as well as the ins and outs of human communication.” They offer an interdisciplinary approach to design, utilizing their experience in communication and studio art to the fullest. This creates multifaceted work well-suited to its particular purpose. August also has a thirst for knowledge, seeking out new mediums and approaches whenever possible.

August has a continuing love of type-based design and layouts. They are also experienced in illustration, with an enjoyment of figure drawing. They also enjoy working in different mediums such as photography, pastel, digital art, printmaking, motion tech, web design, and digital design.
